What the GLB carries

The second row slides, reclines and folds in a 40/20/40 split, so you trade legroom for cargo in a few seconds. The optional third row is a 50/50 split, and the second row has EASY-ENTRY to fold out of the way. That third row is for children and short trips; adults will not want it for an hour. With every rear seat down there is 62 cubic feet of space. With the third row up there is 12.4 behind it, so a GLB with seven people aboard carries school bags, not luggage. The car is 182.4 inches long and 66.7 inches tall, so it fits a standard garage and compact stalls.

GLB 250 or GLB 250 4MATIC

Same 2.0-liter turbo four with mild-hybrid assist, 221 hp and 258 lb-ft, same 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and mbusa.com lists both at 6.9 seconds to 60. The GLB 250 is front-wheel drive; the 4MATIC adds all-wheel drive and a little to the MSRP in the table. For city and freeway driving in Los Angeles, front-wheel drive is enough. Take the 4MATIC for winter trips to the mountains or a steep driveway. Both take premium unleaded. The dual-clutch gearbox shifts quickly on the move and can feel hesitant creeping in stop-and-go traffic; drive one on a crowded street before you decide, since much of the term will be spent in that traffic.

Lease or finance a Mercedes GLB

A GLB lease payment is built from four figures, and each is a line on the written quote. The gross capitalized cost is the negotiated price plus any fee rolled into the lease, less the capitalized cost reduction you pay at signing. The residual value is the lender's estimate of what the car is worth at lease end, set as a percentage of MSRP for the term and mileage. The money factor is the lease's interest rate. Tax applies to each payment in California. At lease end the lessee returns the car and pays the disposition fee and any excess-mileage or excess-wear charge in the contract, or buys it for the purchase-option price written into the contract on day one. Financing spreads the whole price over the loan; a lease spreads only the depreciation for the term, which is why the monthly payment on the same GLB is lower on a lease. Lease if you change cars every two or three years and drive under the allowance. Finance or buy if you keep cars for six years or more.

mbusa.com lists two future models: a 2027 GLB SUV with a new four-cylinder, which Mercedes-Benz says will be in dealerships in early 2027, and a 2027 electric GLB SUV. The GLB 250 on this page is the current car, in stock now, and the offers above are written on it.
